Revival City

Heal. Revive. Restore.

We aim to end chronic poverty for those who require more than immediate necessities. Our multidimensional approach not only ends chronic homelessness for a few but can eliminate chronic homelessness for all. Revival City heals the past, restores the present, to revive the future: one person, one home, and one life at a time.

Let's end chronic homelessness

About Us

Revival City provides the most vulnerable populations in Los Angeles County with the immediate tools necessary to end chronic homelessness. Providing immediate housing, food, and job placement.

Sadly, these are simply quick fixes to end chronic homelessness, once we’ve addressed our clients' immediate needs. We then begin to equip our clients with additional tools to ensure they will be able to permanently and sustainably end chronic homelessness for themselves.

For every client, Revival City provides clothing not just for everyday life, but also to ensure they have the proper attire to maintain their new job. Furniture assistance, which immediately gives the client a sense of structure while simultaneously providing additional job security in this post-pandemic world, where working from home is the new normal, offers emotional support counseling for every client to heal from within, further equipping the client with the emotional intelligence necessary to end the client’s battle with chronic homelessness permanently.

Revival City’s multidimensional approach does not end chronic homelessness for a few but can eliminate chronic homelessness for all.

With every client we help, we create a community. Thus, creating an even more sustainable support system for our clients. At Revival City, leading by example is the most effective way to create lasting change. We empower our clients to inspire the most vulnerable populations in Los Angeles County, enabling them to end chronic homelessness for themselves and their families.

Revival City LA heals the past, restores the present, to revive the future: one person, one home, and one life at a time.

We can not do it alone. With your help, we can put an end to the cycle of chronic homelessness.

  • Fueled by a constant passion to help those in need, Christopher Joyner leveraged his extensive professional experience in crisis intervention and social services, combined with his expertise as a licensed therapist and degrees in business management, finance, marketing, and social services, to form Revival City LA.

Joyner's personal hardships served as the model for Revival City's multidimensional approach to not only end his cycle of chronic homelessness, but to end chronic homelessness for all.

In his young adult years, Joyner personally experienced chronic poverty and years of incarceration. Once released, Joyner refused to waste his second chance at life. He viewed his second chance as a gift for something greater. Sadly, he quickly found it nearly impossible to rebuild his life because he had no support system to guide him back to his purpose.

Eventually, he overcame these obstacles. Joyner became a recording artist, a social services professional, a devoted father, and an overseas professional basketball player. Though he was fulfilling his lifelong passions, Joyner still had one passion going unfulfilled: helping those in need. He founded Revival City LA, a nonprofit dedicated to rebuilding the lives of those affected by chronic poverty, reigniting their hope, and reclaiming their purpose. He views this organization as his deep personal calling.

Joyner refuses to allow those rebuilding their lives to face the challenges he faced. No community. No sustainable support. He designed to reshape lives with structure, community, compassion, empowerment, emotional support, and hope.

Revival City LA, led by Joyner, not only tirelessly brings change to Los Angeles. The organization is dedicated to bringing light, healing, and hope to those who need it most.
